How We Got Started

Pizza has been in the family since 1961, Lisa's dad & mom Gene & Judy Harkelroad opened their first store, in Norwalk, Ohio. They owned and operated that location for over 23 years. All five of their children helped to run that location. They sold pizzas, subs, and drinks. They made their own sauce, cooked their own sausage, cut their own pepperoni, and cut their own cheese. The pizza dough was purchased from a local bakery. The Pizza Quik took on the same sauce recipe, but they make their own pizza dough. With the modern day conveniences, they purchased their pizza cheese, pepperoni, and sausage pre-packaged.

Pizza Quik was opened in 1985 by Rich & Lisa Percival. The first location was in downtown Peru, Indiana. The location sold pizza, subs, salads and drinks only. The delivery area reached within a 3 mile radius from the store. Every hour on the hour they would deliver to the Grissom Air Base. With the demand for delivery to the Air Base increasing, the second location was opened. The second location was located on U.S 31 S. The location by the base was the most profitable location. After being opened in that location for more than eight years, the location was moved to 1/2 mile north of that store. After six years in the next location the store was moved to three miles north of that location into a strip mall. That has been Pizza Quik's present location for seven years now. After the first three years the first location in Peru was sold, and the one store remained with the present owners of Rich & Lisa Percival. After about twelve years the pizza shop started to sell pizza, subs, breadsticks, fried foods, salads and more.
